Apple Roses

This is a very easy, and impressive presentation for a dessert. Perfect for an anniversary dinner or Valentines Day.
3 Red Delicious Apples ( the redder the better)
1 shaker cinnamon and sugar mixed
1 sheet of puff pastry
Whipped cream
1 stick butter or 1 tbsp margarine
1 lemon
Start by coring the apples and then slicing the in half lengthwise.Once this is done lay an apple half on its flat side and cut off the rounded ends.
Now, starting at the thick end, slice the apple into very thin slices. You should be able to see the knife going through them.
With the apples sliced place them into a bowl of water with the juice of half a lemon and put in the microwave for 3 minutes on high.
Thaw out a sheet of your puff pastry. I used this one but you may prefer another.
Now put some board flour on your board and roll out your sheet of puff pastry into a large rectangle. Be sure to get the creases out of the dough when rolling.
Now cut the dough into 6 equal strips and sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
Pat the apple slices dry. Once you have done this place the slices onto the dough so that they overlap 50% and the rounded edges stick proud above the top edge.
Now fold the bottom up so that the edges match and press the dough down to seal the apples in the center. Sprinkle with the cinnamon and sugar once more.
Trim any excess dough off of the ends and roll up from one end.
Now place the rolled rose into a buttered ramekin or cupcake pan and bake at 375° F for 45 minutes and you are done.
Serve with the whipped cream or in a pool of heavy whipping cream. Enjoy!
